International House Portugal 11th Language Teaching Symposium in Viseu on 17th and 18th March 2006
Embracing Change: rising to the challenge of new developments in ELT
International House Porto
International House Porto, originally PEC,  was affiliated to the International House world Organisation in 1995    Teaching takes place in its two centres in Foz do Douro and Leça da Palmeira. 

Languages Taught:  
English, Italian, German, French and Portuguese for foreigners. 

 

Examinations:
International House Porto prepares students for the following Cambridge exams:  
Preliminary English Test (PET)
CELS * 
First Certificate English (FCE)  
Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)  
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)  
These exams can be taken in June and December each year.  

* International House Porto is the sub-centre in the North of Portugal for the Cambridge CELS examinations.   

 

Computer Assisted Language Learning:  
Both the Foz and Leça schools have a computer room for students  which includes multimedia PCs and Internet access.  

 

Company  Teaching:
Classes are given both in company and at the school on a one-to-one or group basis.  Intensive or Semi-intensive courses are available.  CD ROM facilities are available for courses in the school.
